Another top 10 ranking for UF

I commented on the reason why UF showed up on that ranking, as clearly explained by a reputable source. I am sorry that you can not handle a reasonable discussion and have to resort to insults. You have continued to make a very weak argument, I am sorry if you find that troubling.

Take it easy, please.

MyOpinion, your reasons for “staying close to home” is kinda lame. If that was the case, why are South Florida students moving 350 miles north to UF instead of staying at the the local schools in South Florida? These students are not really saving money by moving away from home.

I think you need to come up with a better argument.

UF Peer assesment score- 3.6
UM Peer assesment score- 3.2

THAT is a big difference.
Worth 25% of the total USNWR score.
OUCH!

Between UF and UMiami even me, as an FSU grad, have to go with UF. It is simply a more comprehensive university available at less expense. Apologies to a fellow ACC school but blood is thicker than water.

I bet no one cares about your specific opinion parent2noles

^^^^^
That was a pretty harsh response.

It is an honor to even be ranked in the numbers stated here.

Just because a school has a higher ranking than another school on, for example, physics, does not mean that the individual who attends the lower-ranked program cannot do better than an individual from the higher-ranked program.

I really don’t care if there is a 9-point difference between rankings of two schools. I’d put more judgment on the individual, since he is the one who must earn the diploma.

and goufgators, they meant state-wise, not county-wise. Like, Florida students tend to stay within Florida, instead of going to Texas or California or Carolina, etc.

Given that Florida students tend to stay in Florida, and Florida has a high population, UF is the most popular school in Florida, and according to the person, that is the reason why UF was so highly ranked.

Lol of course it was. I was illustrating MyOpinions tactics. I apologize if that wasn’t apparent. I am a fan of parent2noles

Larry;
Please provide the link to the following statement:

“Like, Florida students tend to stay within Florida, instead of going to Texas or California or Carolina, etc.”

I am assumming that you are saying that top Fla students don’t leave the state?

I think it’s safe to say that with these harsh economic times, more students who COULD go out-of-state to more prestigious, private universities are going to opt to stay in-state and spend their first four college years in their home state.

The statement is in the link given by the OP…

I didn’t say I support the statement, I was clarifying to goufgators what they probably meant by saying students tend to stay close to home.

And I am not saying that top FLA students don’t leave the state. I’m saying a majority of all FLA students stay, and the majority that do stay will likely accept their admission to UF over other Florida universities.
