Hello everyone, so I recently got accepted in a few UCs and I narrowed it down to these two. I live in LA, major in psychology, and am taking pre-med classes. Between UCI and UCSD, which school will offer a better education, increase my chances of getting accepted into a med school, and in your opinion a better school overall. It seems that anyone I know that goes to UCI says UCI is a better school, and people who go to UCSD say UCSD is better. I've been to both campuses and they both seemed very chill with friendly people all around. These forums have been so helpful throughout my college journey. So thanks ahead of time and I would love to hear your thoughts.

It’s your pick base on your preference, honestly for premed. Don’t get hung up on prestige or anything.

Honestly, it doesn’t matter. Academically, both are good choices and neither school are far enough to make a real difference in terms of ranking. And for your major, you could be out in 4 years. I heard that UCI is requiring all students to take math up to Calc II. Idk if that’s true, but it is a consideration. The GPA killers are math, science and engineering courses.

Well that puts them on a pretty equal terms. Its hard to decide when both schools are so similar. I forgot to mention that I am also a transfer student.

Imo, that doesn’t really help much. What would be more helpful is what are you looking for in a school?
