<p>Uhm, some of Stanford’s departments, such as the engineering ones, are flat the best among those of the three being compared. Even when you’re talking one of Harvard’s best departments, AKA mathematics, Stanford is very good, and a smart student has an ocean there to make use of. </p>

<p>And if Europeans regard HYP more highly (who the hell knows if this is true), Asians often tend to regard Stanford highly, if only because they’re all engineers :)</p>

<p>I’d choose stanford (definitely NOT columbia or brown) - it’s almost always ranked amongst the VERY top and is regarded as a really prestigious uni in many countries. i know people who chose stanford over harvard.</p>
