another wait list thread

I was waitlisted at NYU (obviously) and it remains my first choice, thus I chose to remain on the waitlist (for Gallatin, if it matters). I was just wondering if any of you were waitlisted + then accepted; if so, is there anything I should know/do? I'm already planning on writing a letter saying that NYU is my first choice and that I would absolutely go if accepted etc along with updates on new accomplishments; I'm also planning on getting a new recommendation letter from a different perspective than that which was given in my previous recommendations. Is there anything else I should do? I've read the "how to get off the wait list" featured discussion and all that. I'm just worried about going overboard and seeming annoying, lol. Does NYU generally take a decent number of students off the wait list each year? How long after 1 May do they start doing this? thanks for any help you can give :)

oh & I didn't apply for any aid if that matters.

I was waitlisted from Tisch and it is still my first choice as well. I'm with you...I will be emailing them, sending them whatever they need...I don't care--everyone is saying to just get across how much devotion you still have for the school
