another "what are my chances"...dont feel too good about 'em

should i retake my sat 2's? i sent in my app, and the app doesnt say im gonna retake them in january, so should i email them and tell them i am or something...or should i not worry about the sat 2's as much?

Be confident when you're taking the test!!! I've found that ALOT of my SAT problems were because of a lack of confidence when answering the questions.

xanatos...if you dont mind, do you think its possible to list your stats maybe?..i mena, i know its different every year, but just to give us an idea...but if you dont want to, thats cool too, i dont wanna force you to, and i dont wanna sound like an ass

Yeah, I don't mind, but I can't do it right now because I have a lot of work for tomorrow (which I haven't started yet). I'll post them up either later tonight or tomorrow (which is the last day of school before Thanksgiving break starts :)).

oh, no, take your time...im a regular decision applicant, ive got plenty of time before they reject me(sry for being pessimistic...i just hate standardized tests....retake sat 1 in like, 13 days, and retake math 2c in january)...well, mayeb i shouldnt say that...i dont want my last statement to be true...i wish i was a legacy...

Don't fret about it! In 25 years, your children will be Dartmouth legacies ;-)

lol, i hope

My stats...

SAT I - 1500 (770V/730M)
SAT II - 780 Chem, 760 Writing, 690 IIC
GPA - 96.5
Rank - 1/120 (competitive prep school)

ECs -

Film Society officer, 10th-12th grades
Gaming Society officer, 12th grade
Writer, Copy Editor, and Layout Editor for school newspaper (10th, 11th, and 12th grades)
School tour guide
Tennis 9-11 grade (I didn't do it last year because I couldn't stand the coach)
National Young Leaders' Conference 11th Grade
Internship at A. J. Pone Opticians in Princeton, NJ, summer after 11th grade
Also, I speak Russian fluently

These aren't all of my ECs, just the ones I consider most important.

Hey Xanatos where do you go to school?

Dartmouth lol

huh...those stats didnt make me feel better...and you speak fluent russian? hey, did they make you translate anything...i said i can understand 2 indian languages, but thats the basic stuff, like when my cousins talk to me...im worried that they might think i lied on my resume or something...

Haha okay sorry... that was a COMPLETELY ditzy moment. I mean, where DID you go to school?

No...either they believed me, or it wasn't a big deal, or both. Don't let anybody's stats intimidate you. Remember, they are trying to create a complete class, and so they are looking for people with all sorts of different traits, not just people with X SATs or particular ECs. What they are looking for are people who can bring unique and interesting perspectives to campus who they feel would fit in but at the same time stand out in their own ways.

I went to the Hun School of Princeton.

i hope so...on this website, its insane, because 1600 and 3x800sat2's pop up everywhere and it just scares the hell out of me...oh well...my app's in, dont need to think about it anymore...until the interview at least...

Xanatos, is your 96.5 GPA weighted or unweighted? And depending on which one it is, what was the other GPA? Thanks.

Weighted. I have no idea what my unweighted score is, however, because my school only reported and kept track of weighted scores. Also, it's more complicated than that because my school cut off scores above 100. That is, if you had a 99 in a class, you should have gotten a 102 weighted (our school had a 1.03 honors curve and a 1.05 AP curve). However, the grade was still reported as a 100.

Also, I forgot to mention that I took 7 APs.

It's sort of the same in my school (Rome Free Academy), I believe there's a bell curve... so it screws over the people who deserve the extra points, lol.

oh, i know this prolly wont help my chances too much, but i was an editor on the school newspaper in 10th grade...

that's a good EC
