Hello all,
So as the title suggests, I'm wondering how I will look to the Harvard admissions office next year when I apply. Academically I'm not worried; my GPA is 4.16 (out of 4.30), on a practice SAT my score was a 2160, not amazing but I'll do better when I take the real one in May, for APs I currently take English Lang. and Comp, US, and AB Calc (I can expect 5's on all of these), and next year I'll be taking AP Euro, AP Lit, AP Physics C, and either AP macro or micro econ. I am quite worried, however, in a few other areas. In my freshman and sophomore I took formal music courses in guitar and was on the rowing team at a prep school in Connecticut, and I was on my way to excelling in both of those areas. However, this year I chose to go and study in an international school in northern India. Thus, I dropped guitar in favor of sitar lessons, and, well, there isn't really a competitive rowing scene in the Himalayas. The year has really changed me in a lot of ways, and, because of that, what I was passionate about last year, I am not so interested in this year. I was very involved with music last year, but this year it's really been replaced by an interest in writing prose, philosophy, and literature. I want my courses next year to reflect on that change, but I'm worried that the reason for this lack of consistency will not be perceived very well. On top of this, I was suspended two weeks ago for drinking and am currently residing in a home for troubled Tibetan youth for the next month. How much will the suspension hurt me? And would it be a good idea to write about my experiences had here while on suspension, despite the fact that it emphasizes my breach of the rules? (Some of the stories I've heard from my roommates are inspiring, unbelievable, and at times heartbreaking.) Anyway, I greatly appreciate what you all can tell me and, please, don't hold back.

Thanks
