Another what are my chances...

Hey everyone. My friend referred me to this board, and I've been skimming it for hours. I've recently gone into college panic mode (currently junior). I always thought that there will be some UC out there that wants me. But now, I just see the rejection letters just piling up for the seniors. 3.8's getting rejected by Davis...that's messed up. Now I wonder where I'm headed. Man, if I get rejected by lowly Merced, I'm just gonna join the Marines.

Race: Asian
GPA
Sophmore Year: 3.5 cumulative weighted (I screwed up so bad first semester...3.3 gpa)
Junior Year: 3.8 weighted
Basically it's a mix of A's and B's. Thankfully, I haven't got a C yet.

SAT: 1950 (DOH!)
SAT2's: US History: 760 Mandarin: 800 (gonna take Chem senior year)

EC's
JV Baseball
Varsity Football
300+ (and counting) volunteer hours at hospital
Band geek

Yea, so I'm screwed basically. That 1950 is killin me. I'm gonna take it again, but I doubt it's gonna go up much. My GPA ain't stellar too. Each year my expectation drops. First it was UCLA, then it was UCSD, then it was Davis. Now, looks like I'm headed for Iraq, cuz there's no way in hell I'm gonna go to a state or CC college.

Not sure, but I think the fact that you're Asian does screw you over a bit. Since Asians are typically incredibly competitive, elite students, it may be difficult for a college to distinguish you from other kids similar to you, yet with higher grades.

Then again, I don't know much about ORM's. Well, best of luck to you though.

Don't know.. I got into UC Davis this year as an English major with a weighted 3.86 gpa and 1950.
