On monday I have an interview with an alumni from Johns Hopkins. It isn't surprising that he's an MD. Anyway, I'm having my interview at a local Barnes and Nobles, so it'll be in a coffee shop setting with people walking around. I've gone through some posts on the same topic, however they don't quite fit my needs. I was thinking about wearing some slacks, dress shoes, and a white dress shirt, tucked in of course. For a cafe setting, however, it seems a bit formal. Would it be a bad idea to go with khakis and a collared shirt? Or should I just go ahead with the semi-formal apparel?

I realize that it isn't that big of a deal. I just want to make a good impression without going over the top.
