You can probably get into Drexel. Do you have any activities outside school, in the community, church, etc? Any job? Anything that you've been doing on your own that you could quickly "go public" with- join an organized group or do volunteer work in? Your ACT composite is good actually, and your grades aren't terrible. You can get in someplace decent.

Try state schools, such as University of Washington: it's actually very good. Campus is nice and we have lots of rain :)

you can probably get into the university of maryland because their ACT range is 28-31 but their average GPA is a 3.96w. So you can probably get in.

By the way, what courseload did you have?

my courseload has been primarily honors with a couple of AP's here and there because my school doesn't have very many of them.

what are some schools with good engineering programs that you think i could get into?

wow asking about my chances at drexel was pointless from looking at their stats 82% acceptence rate and most student had below a 3.5gpa.

i'm not feeling creaive right now so this is just an ordinary bump.

Also I live in Ohio and I don't know why I didn't say that before.

what do you do in your spare time? Those are "ECs" if they are anything besides TV and videogames.

Probably not a good shot at the elite (top 20ish), but besides that, you could make it. Look for larger schools - they care less about ECs. Give UMichigan a look (despite the Ohioness)

friend got in to nyu stern with 3.3ish uw with 2000ish sat.

Just put down some EC's be creative. In the end if you don't get it you don't get it. You don't have to be honest to get into a good school. you have to be creative!

Wow, so that's a terrible piece of advice:

"Just lie!! And call it creativity!"

Um, no.

Nice advice I think I'll do just that. j/k

Also do you think I'd have a shot at any of the UC's?

If you guys think that everyone is so friking honest on their apps you are wrong. Im sick of this game when the applicant tries to show his best qualities on the application while the adcoms try to weed out the deficiencies.
Admission is just a game. It is not what you have done, but how you can advertise yourself.
If you say the truth everywhere and make it - great.
If you lie and make it - all props to you because you could actually manipulate the info to your advantage.
If you lie and don;t get in - well that should teach you a lesson, but.....
when you don't lie and don't make it - that means YOU SUCK! It means that not only are you not good enough, but also you are not able to present what you have.
Don;t get scared by the word "lie" - you can brush it up into "paint it up". We all do it to some extent but when it it comes to something more specific that can bite ppl become pussys and back off.
I didn't lie on my apps. I thought I was good enough for yale and princeton and upenn - I wasn't. But I have seen people sucessfully "brush it up" - and not just by adding an extracurricular activity, but by creating an alterego (they do care about personalities) and playing around with it.
Don't assume that if you be yourself ppl will like you. THis is total crap for the most part. People are by nature corrupt and sinful and they constantly cover it up with makeup. Read Adam Smith - Wealth of Nations PEOPLE LIE.

moon_doggy:

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCB/UCLA: Reach
UCSD: Slight Reach
UCI/UCSB/UCD: Match
UCSC/UCR/UCM: Safe Match

Dendankin you do make a good point with that one.

okay one more question what are my chances for the University of Miami?

u have a good chance there I am sure. But I would treat it as a safety

once again try to paint your application. ITS NOT ABOUT STATS and EC's ppl get rejected with everythink perfect. They are looking for potential and personality
