A triangle with a perimeter of 20 has a side of length 5. Which of the following is a possible length for a second side of the triangle
(A) 5 (B) 7 (C) 10 (D) 12 (E) 14

7.

No one side of a triangle can be longer than or equal to the other two added together.

@seattle_mom srry but i didn’t get it !!:D

My solution is to check each choice. a,b,c are the lengths of sides. We have a+b>c>a-b
Choice A: the lengths are 5,5,10. Its wrong because 5+5=10
Choice B: 5,7,8. Correct
Choi C,D,E are also wrong
