Answering about a challenge faced when no serious challenges encountered

One of the college essay questions asks about a challenge you faced and how you overcame it.
What if you've had no deaths, poverty, health, race or other prototypical challenge to face? You've
worked hard and are enthusiastic about learning but fate has generally been smiling down on you.
What do you write about??

Have you ever tried out for an academic team, sport, etc. that challenged you physically, mentally, or emotionally? Even making friends can be a “challenge.” Re-taking the ACT or SAT can even be a challenge to write about. Maybe if you didn’t agree with a teacher, or butted heads with one all year, even if you had a challenge in finding the perfect college for you! Use your brain, and think of experiences you can describe as a challenge. I wrote an essay similar to this in Advanced English about trying out for cheerleading (being rejected by the team and coach and realizing why I didn’t belong there) or a time when I stuck up for a friend and was rejected by the rest of my class. Anything is a challenge; you just have to think of it that way!
