if you have to interview, that'd be about the time you would do it in the first place.

They interview transfers?

i had to do one, many schools do

Hmm...okay I'll look into that. And thanks guys for the offer to give me the "unofficial" tour of campus.

how has the chem engineering going? is it bearable?

Three Questions for current students
1. how big is greek life and partying?
2. how easy is it to go skiing?
3. do architecture students make any friends outside of architecture?

1) the greek life is certainly there and parties are always abundant if that's your thing

2) no idea

3) of course! My girlfriend is an architecture major. I see her for dinner every single day. That's not to say she's not crazy busy, but she does have time for friends. It'd be a good idea to befriend another archi so you have somebody to socialize in the studio with when you're bound up all weekend for a project deadline.

partying is not my thing.. i was wondering how easy it is to avoid.. or whether there is pressure to pledge and what not

What's the food like at Cornell? Is it really as good as what the school says it is? How expensive is it?

I'm hungry!

I am a VERY picky eater but both times I visited the campus I found something delicious and ate it.

whats the cost for food like there?

I've been here almost two months and haven't really gotten tired of the food yet - you get to know what you like and when they serve it, and they have a very wide selection. It costs around $2000 a semester for the average meal plan.

I haven't seen any pressure to pledge yet, although rush isn't for another few months. In fact, I only know of two guys who are definitely pledging.

As for partying, if it's not your thing, you don't have to do it. I'd say about half the guys on my floor don't party but they are still very social and are always doing things on Fridays and Saturdays.

I've only met a few architecture students, but they were all very social. One was a brother at a popular frat and another goes out to party nearly as much as the rest of us.

for architecture students, you've gotta remember that there's only 60 freshmen in the architecture program - a very small number in a school of 13,000 undergrads.

My architecture friend (know her from HS) is social despite her hard work load.

sparticus - how is the music department? i talked with a prof there and he advised me agaisnt pursuing a music major bc of the other great departments. is there an open drumset on campus/student led ensembles other than acapella?
