Can someone please tell me about Anthro 2AC with Professor Lightfoot? I know there's RateMyProfessor for this kind of thing, but I was wondering what kind of work there is for the class (papers, essays, short answer exams).

Umm there are like 2 midterms and a final. They should be pretty straightforward as long as you take notes in lecture and read the reading assignments. The test has combination of multiple choice… fill in the blank… short essay questions, and matching.
If I remember correctly… there was like maybe 1 research paper? I don’t quite remember… You can ask RaNe too.

Btw. I’ll sell you the text book and reader if you want =).

Class is two midterms (matching, fill in the blank, short answer) and a final. There’s also an excursion project and a short research paper. You dont have to do the readings if you go to lecture and take good notes. Understand everything in his study guide. It was an overall fun course even if you do not care about archaeology at all because Lightfoot is entertaining.

Professor Lightfoot is a great lecturer, and very engaging. The class is not difficult by any means, but if you don’t put in at least a little bit of effort, you won’t get an A. All the GSIs were very chill the year I took it. The research paper and assignments are not a big deal. Overall, a great course for AC requirement. Like miszstephy said, it’s a fun course even if you don’t care about archaeology.

The class is easy, but don’t slack off. As with any class in Berkeley, “easy” is relative, but still requires you to keep up and do the work. No BS.
