Anthropology major, GPA 2.9, Transfer Student

<p>What are my chances of being accepted into an university with a 2.9 GPA who is an Anthropology Major? I'm a community college student and Applied to UCMerced, UCSB, UCR, UCM, UCSC and UCD. </p>

<p>I've gotten A's and B's in all my classes except these: </p>

<p>C- CHemistry 101 ( or in my school 11)</p>

<p>C- Chemistry 102 ( or 12)</p>

<p>C - Calculus 1 </p>

<li>D in Biology 22 ( Genetics) w a lab</li>
</ul>

<p>I took 6 AP's</p>

<p>AP Bio - 2
Ap English Composition- 3
AP English Literature- 3
AP Pscyhology - 3
AP Government - 1
AP US History- 2 </p>

<p>And I've partcipated in </p>

<p>Volunteer in Natural History Museum
Swimming Team
Soccer Team
1st Sergent in ROTC high SChool</p>

<p>And Recently Independent Research Project At my College and attended a conference to show our results </p>

<p>I am Recently retaking Biology 22 right now and will finish this Friday with a grade of B or Better which will replace the D in Biology</p>

<p>I applied this fall I wasn't even going to but I said hey what the hell... Its driving me crazy if I should have applied or not because I have a Low GPA and Three C's and A current D that I"m making up right now in the Winter. Anyone's answer would be appreciative </p>

<p>Same major, same GPA. Hoping to transfer to UCMerced. I may not have a major of quantitative mathematics and a GPA of 3.9, but I can write the hell out of an essay AND use proper English. My Dad is friends with a Dean here in the SoCal area (won’t say who) and he said that all decisions will be out before the end of April…The wait is soooo long though.</p>

<p>I’m an admissions officer at UCSD and if you can prove to me that you have what it takes in a reply post, I might be able to pull some strings and let you in. Show me what you got, kid.</p>

<p>Life has already proven to me that if I can make it this far, I am worthy. UCSD, UCSB? I only want UC Merced. I highly doubt an admission rep. would be posting on College Confidential!</p>
