<p>Is anthroplology a good undergrad major for someone interested in Urban and City Planning at the grad level? What other majors would be good preparation for a masters degree in Urban Planning or City Management?</p>
<p>I have a Master’s in City and Regional Planning. My undergrad was Plan II liberal arts at UT-Austin with a concentration in Government. Political science, government or economics would all be good undergrad majors. Some students also had architecture degrees although it wasn’t necessary. Also be prepared for math, especially statistics. I concentrated in housing in graduate school but some other popular concentrations were transportation, land use planning, urban economics, urban design/architecture and health planning. So you might also consider your interests and future career plans when choosing your major. The field is pretty broad. I got my MCRP at Rutgers. I’m sure you could call or email the school and they would give you more information. Unfortunately I’m not very familiar with anthropology classes but it sounds like good preparation.
