Blah. This sucks. Up to 59 units I've managed a 4.0 and no matter how hard I've studied this semester I can not get anything higher than a B average in my Spanish class. My teacher even said I won't be able to get an A. Damn transferitis! One of my last classes (not to mention it's a 5 unit class) and it's gonna screw up my GPA. Super bummed.. anyone going through the same thing?

Lol

B in Spanish.

…

Haha yeah i am. I don’t have a 4.0 (3.7) but I am probably gonna get a B in my Spanish 3 but since its a non-impact class, i really don’t care. At first i was pretty upset but then i thought, “I’m a business major, i should be in a Chinese Mandarin class right now.”

Yeah, it sucks. I thought my last semester would be so much more laid back but 20 units and working full time do not go well together. Argh. Could be worse I guess :)

Don’t sweat it. In some cases ONE B can actually be benificial. It shows that you are human and that you are not some crazy person obsessed with having an A in every single class you ever take. I have never seen a graduate program’s statistics showing any difference whatsoever between a 4.0 and a 3.9+ GPA student in terms of admittance rate.

I have a B in British Literature II this semester, and for the life of me I can’t raise it. The teacher is really strict on the reading and every paper I’ve turned in has been a B or a C. It’s really frustrating because until this class, I actually considered myself to be good at analyzing, and now I’m struggling just to keep up.
I’ve scored all A’s in major prerequisites, which includes three comp/lit courses, the bible as literature, world religions, and spanish 1 and 2.

Thanks TonyPreMed2013. That actually made me feel better (which is what I was looking for!) I just always assumed I would be able to graduate with a 4.0 and once I transferred I wouldn’t sweat a B because I know getting a 4.0 at the university level is really difficult.

HeatherBecca: Are you an English major??? I’m taking British Literature II also. I’ve had the teacher before so I’m doing good. Spanish 102 is a prereq for English so getting a B is a bummer… Frustrating isn’t it?!

Just to think, a more useful thread was bumped so you can take up space and use this forum as your personal blog.

Yes, and thank you for bumping it again

There are actually quite a few people on here who have 4.0’s and I’ve seen tons of people complain about “transferitis” and so I was hoping to see if a few people could relate to what I was going through in that regards.

If it bothers you so much, then don’t reply. It’s that simple.

Hey, I got a B in a 5 unit accounting course last semester and it was my first ever B too. Yeah, I was pretty ****ed at first but on the bright side you know what it feels like to fail (well, not literally of course) in college and that’ll be so beneficial once you transfer.

Yeah, I’m an English major. And yes, that class is frustrating :(

All semester I’ve been right on the border of an A and a B in a 1 credit lab and it bothers the hell out of me. To break my 4.0 for 1 little credit would be so aggravating.

Exact same situation, except with sign language. I switched it to pass/fail though…so I’ll still have a 4.0
