Anxious about extracurricular activities on common app

Hello!

I'm going to be a senior next year, and I'm starting to look at the common application. There are a lot of spots for activities, but I'm worried about this section lowering my chances of getting into a top university (Stanford...). For academics, I have straight A's, and I took 4 AP classes junior year. I have a 2260 on SAT.

Tennis is the HUGE extracurricular for me. I am nationally ranked, and I practice 10+ hours during weekdays. On weekends, tournaments + traveling + warming up is usually 10+ hours.

As you can see, I spend a lot of time on tennis, leaving less time for other activities. I have done a few other things such as being a treasurer for a club, Junior Counselor at a tennis club, book buddy at the library, tutoring kids behind in school, and Leadership class sophomore year. This might seem like a lot, but I NEVER SPENT A PRODIGIOUS AMOUNT OF TIME ON ANY OF THESE OTHER ACTIVITIES. :( and I have not done them continuously over the course of my high school career.

Do I even have a chance of going to my dream school?

Colleges like dedication, so that time spent on tennis is good

At some point, get in communication with the Tennis coach at your dream schools. If the coach wants you and you’ve got the academic credentials, it could really help make up for other shortcomings in an application. I don’t know if you’re interested in playing in college but you could certainly get recruited if you’re nationally ranked.

20+ hours a week is a lo t of time. I wouldnt worry. Do you play all year round?

I think that it is the depth of what you do. If you devote so much time to one EC, there is not time for much else. My son has a similar situation with his music. You look like you’ll be in great shape. Be yourself. You’re doing well.

I am contacting college coaches right now, and I have a good chance of going to a good D3 school. But I’m from California, and I would like to go to a UC, like Berkeley or LA, who have REALLY top tennis teams. I have pretty much no chance of getting recruited there, so I’m also thinking of applying normally, as just a student. That’s why I am really conflicted!!! I either have to accept a D3 school offer, or decline, and apply in the fall through the normal application process…

Yes, I play all year round.

If you want to expand your ECs, then do something tennis-related. You’re already deep into the sport, so go teach some tennis lessons or something. And if you manage to catch the eyes of some college tennis coaches, then you gonna be pretty well off.

also I started a online store to raise money to donate to a charity- can I still add this even if it did not work very well…?

Awards:
National AP Scholar
CSF (does this count?)
Girls’ State Nominee
& numerous awards for tennis tournaments

also, my school does not offer AP classes to freshman or sophomores

bump ? :)

what do you guys think are my chances of getting into UC’s like UC Berkeley and UCLA?
