chances at stanford or any other schools. right now, i'm looking at UVA, Stanford, Duke, Tufts, Northwestern, maybe Notre Dame, and VA tech for safety

get those scores up!!!!!
admissions at HYPS is always a crapshoot for qualified applicants
But until you've got scores that put you at least in the 25% range, I wouldn't necessarily say you're "qualified," and therefore it's even more of a crapshoot

unless you're black or [even better] native american.

I would give the same answer to a sliiiiiiightly less degree for Duke, UVA OOS, and maybe Northwestern

lol i'm not black nor native american. i'm asian... which is probably worse lol. i completely agree that i need to get my scores up. that sat score was my first one and i didn't study AT ALL :/ i worked hard over the summer so i'm anticipating a dramatic change :)

i live in virginia so i won't be oos for uva

anyone else? i'd appreciate it :)

Take your SAT in October, SAT 2s in November, and apply regular decision. If you were to apply early with those stats, your chances would be hindered. I wish you the best of luck. Stay humble and you might find yourself happily surprised!

Yeah - SAT II's. I know Stanford seems to love Math IIC, but if it's not your thing, it's not your thing. and try to raise some test scores... Honestly, i'm not sure ND is a safety. VTech may be. I'm looking at similar schools

i'm planning on taking math II, chem, and maybe literature or spanish for sat IIs.
oh sorry, i didn't mean to sound like ND was my safety. only VTech is on that list. would you recommend any other universities? is amherst way out of reach?
