<p>I do care if they switch, because amnesia, SCEA is non-binding, and so you're not commited to attend if admitted and you have up to May 1 to make a final decision. ED is binding and by January, you pay your deposit, etc.</p>

<p>Probably not, but 1000 or more would-be Princeton RD applicants may now apply SCEA instead.</p>
<p>ED and SCEA are not the same thing, because if you apply ED you HAVE to go, but if you apply SCEA but then decide it isn't the school for you, you don't have to go. It makes a big difference for indecisive people :).</p>
