Guys and girls applying to the college of AAP, what do you think about the programs and the learning environment? Among other schools is Cornell your first? Cos I applied to a number but right now, for architecture, Cornell and IIT are still the best options but the month of April is bringing with a lot of tough decisions to make. DOn't know what to do.

What's AAP?

Art, Architecture, and Planning

My daughter applied to AAP. She recently received a likely letter, and yes, she's going to have to make a hard decision. She really likes Cornell, but she also has been extremely interested in two other top-notch 5-year architecture programs. Two others -- also good, but probably not as interesting and strong as Cornell or the other top two-- accepted her this month. Those last two she'd probably pass on for Cornell, but I don't know what will happen if her other top choices admit her. I think this might just come down to money for us.

I just received an email from Cornell telling me I'd be better suited for CAS and I should consider switching colleges, i mean from AAP to CAS. What does that mean? I sent in all the required stuff including the file portfolio and interview essays. I really don't know what that means. Anyway, I replied that my primary interest was architecture. Did fellow AAP gunners ever get anything that strange?

wow...when was this letter dated? anyone else get something like this? Jrock, how unique was the letter?

It started like this:

Dear Jimi(that's my first name),

We are still in the process of reviewing applications for admission to Cornell. As you know, you are being considered for admission to the College
of Architecture, Art and Planning. On reading your application, however, it seems that your academic interests would also be met well in the College of
Arts and Sciences. I am writing, therefore, to ask .........blah,blah,blah

that's how it went.
