I'm technically Early Action II, but I finished back in October. Any idea when we can expect to hear back?

According to the website, EA I students are notified December 15th and EA II are notified on February 15th. I don’t think we’ll hear anything beforehand since they are not a rolling admissions school. Is there a reason you applied EA II even though your app was already complete by the first deadline? Is there any difference between EA I and EA II (besides the deadlines)?

Pinklam- we had a bit of a college counselor switch up in mid-October, and I didn’t want to risk missing the EA I deadline. However, they found a replacement easily enough, and I got my application in quickly. I really don’t think there is ANY difference between EA I and II. I have a hunch Trinity is seriously trying to boost their enrollment and applications (no application fee, no supplements, tons of deadline options etc) and giving you lots of choices encourages you to apply? Just a theory. I’m also fairly certain the EA II deadline is AFTER the Regular Decision deadline so… not that early after all.

My son received his acceptance e-mail yesterday. Waiting for the snail mail to follow. Want to see if the scholarship offer is included. We were told it would be!

Feagin- What was your decision plan? Quite a few of my classmates heard back yesterday too.

EA - I. My son will still be waiting to hear about his Semmes scholarshipship application, however.

When does the Semmes scholarship notify?

Semmes Finalist notified by Feb. 15 for interview. Final decision Mar. 1.

D received acceptance and scholarship letter today. Included was an invitation to the Tower Scholars Day. Does anyone know how many are invited to the Tower Scholars Day in March, and how many full-tuition or other awards are given out at that time? We live out of state and not sure another trip there is warranted.

Invitation to the Tower Scholars day says it is limited to the first 150 responses and that they give several awards. We have never heard of these awards before, although we had 2 other students in the family attend Trinity. I believe these are new awards. A google search of both the Trinity website and beyond yielded no information this morning. For very competitive students who are strongly interested…it looks like a WIN-WIN…with with the add’l. $1500 scholarship awarded to EVERY attendee.

Where did it tell you your scholarship offer?? I didn’t see mine included

My son’s general merit scholarship offer was included within his acceptance letter.

My son’s letter arrived today too! We live in Colorado. No Towers scholar invite, but he did get the Murchison’s Scholarship. Trinity is one of our son’s top schools.

feagin - you said you’ve had other students in your family attend Trinity? What were their majors and experiece like? Are you from Texas? Daughter has applied far and wide. There are 2 schools (of the 9 where she applied) that she has not yet visited, and Trinity is one of them. Would love to hear more about anyone’s experience as an excellent out-of-state female engineering student.

Got acceptance a few days go…scholarship letter today…got muchison scholarship 18k and tower invite…not sure whether we will pursue…great school, but may be too small for D.

When I met with an admissions counselor this summer, he alluded to the Tower invite. They didn’t have a name yet, but he said it would be a new competition to win scholarships. My question is, if the weekend is limited to the first 150 replies, aren’t they effectively limiting the competition to EA or ED applicants?

My daughter (Texas, history/psych. major) and my niece (OOS, finance) both attended and LOVED the school. Both received full-tuition merit scholarships.

Anyone going in March? D is hesitant to give serious consideration to the school because she thinks it’s too small. We will probably check it out, though.

my son will be attending March 2. Any other attendees here?

I’ll be there!
