true haha i just get excited over little news. but a kid didnt get in and had a 3.2 and like over 2000 on SATs, goes to show you how much GPA really is looked at, which makes me happy with my 3.72

i applied mid-september, i think.

i was surprised by the rejections i saw on here - some of the stats seemed average, if not a bit above, to me. guess i underestimated the rigor of acceptances!

My friend from school got in to UP with a 3.7 and 1610 today. Makes me feel a whole lot better about my 4.0 and 1880. Just thought I'd share that with everybody. His major is golf management though haha

That makes me feel so much better. My dad went there and sister currently does. I got a 3.8 and 1680 SAT. But actually golf management is really competitive at Penn State cause it ranks really well nationally.

wow thats awesome to know, my GPA is 3.72 and a little lower than his and my major is education. idk how tough that is but makes me feel better

Wait PSUApplicant did he apply for fall?

Yeah...I know I'm pretty shocked too

PSUApplicant did he apply for fall or summer?

In state you guys may have a better shot. OOS my 1610 and 3.6 just wasn't good enough. Heard another rejection today from NY GPA 3.5 SAT 1180/1600 (don't know what it is out 2400). Collegekid, I know how bad you want this...You too Pitt. Good luck!!!

In and out of state applicants are considered equally.

My son got accepted today to UP for the fall. He found out via snail mail; his on-line message has not changed. He applied to the College of Liberal Arts/International Politics. Submitted his application in August; school records submitted mid-September; GPA 3.74 UW; 2030 SATs (690 Math, 680 CR, 660 Writing); 12 honors courses, 5 APs (3 of those APs this year); heavy ECs throughout high school, but all focused on his two passions; wrote optional essay; OOS. Hope this helps. Good luck to all those still waiting.

congrats on the son, choirmom

ahh this wait is killing me!!

what is the snail mail?

Snail mail = US postal service/letter in the mailbox :-)

oh haha oops maybe im not cut out for psu haha jk

Congrats to all those who got in already, and condolences to those who didn't make it -- take heart, wherever you eventually matriculate will be the best place for you!

Still waiting here in MA, although an acceptance is looking less and less likely the more I read. Ah well, there is still hope for us all and until I hear otherwise, I shall remain optimistic!

^Good luck to you. I'm a very pessimistic guy, and the opposite of everything I believe and hope for always happens. I don't know why. It's hard to explain but I understand it and am taking full advantage of it. :) I hope you staying optimistic helps though, because it sure never helps me!

wow that sucks that kid from NY got rejected. he and i have similar stats...very similar.
do you know if he/she applied summer hayze?

My D received acceptance letter today...finally. Still thinking about you and your kid MyOneandOnly - and all others. The letter received via snail mail was dated 12-4-2008. The PSU website still does not reflect the decision.
