my major is actuarial science and it's offered by smeal college of business. is it the hardest school to get in? i am still waiting for my decision, they said i will hear back by the 31st

thanks JuiceIBox, im sure you have nothing to worry about

Seems to me that many OOS applicants are still hearing and that many of PA applicants are still waiting.

Well, my D is OOS and she hasn't heard a thing yet.

I’m STILL waiting & I applied on Oct. 23. I’m OOS, but a bunch of people from my school who have lower stats than me & applied after me all got their decisions. Is this normal?

does the decision date depend on what major/school you applied to?

Still waiting here in NJ......

My son is still waiting here in NY. We aplied end of September. He has a 90W GPA. About a 1900 on SAT's. Lots of honors and a few AP clases. Good EC and work experience. He didnt put down summer or second choice campus because he really wants UP. I was glad to see despite what some people said that even if you didn't put down summer or other campus option that they are offering it to some who posted on board. He is getting bery nervous and would now probably take summer if offered. Although he has been accepted to some of his other choices. Penn State is what he really wants. By the way He put down Liberal Arts college with a crime, law and justice major. Anybody else out there do the same? Good luck everyone.

it does seem like a lot of PA people haven't heard back either. very very few have heard from my school

My D received her acceptance offer by mail on wed.jan 14.
We are in NJ and she applied late Nov.

I don't have any insight to the process that PSU uses.

It was a target school and will attend if she does not get into her "reach" schools.

Dear Brave ULYSSES- Congrats on your D's acceptance. That't great. Do you mind listing her stats?

My D was denied admission today to UP. We knew it was a bit of a reach, but she is very disappointed.

3.3w GPA
28 ACT
OOS - NJ

She had applied for summer DUS.

Looks like it is going to be a tough year for those on the bubble.

Good luck to all

Sorry to hear NJ Paladin. Was she offered admission to a branch campus? She has good ACT scores so I am curious.

Yes, although she had not listed a secondary branch campus on her application, they did offer her that option. Given that she has five other acceptances in hand (Northeastern, UC Boulder, LSU, ASU, WVU) and waiting to hear from several others, I doubt she will pursue a branch campus.

FYI - the letter arrived this afternoon (large envelope - she intitially thought she got in. Very upsetting.) and her online status also changed today to indicate that she was not accepted.

My D was also denied to the UP campus yesterday, but was offered admission to a branch, which she will not pursue. She's very happily decided to attend The University of Ohio, Columbus.
FYI, her stats are 3.6 weighted average (many honors, AP, college level classes), many ECs, employment, etc., ACT 25, SAT 1630/2400.

Good luck to everyone!!

Sorry to hear editor. May I ask if she found out by mail or online first?

what major was she pursuing editor?
