DS got in to UP, envie didn't say congrats but came Friday.
gpa 3.5 SAT 1930/2400. OOS

scratch what I said a few hours ago, haha, I just got envelope and I'm in for fall 09 DUS!! Soooo happy. I am from Boston , 3.8 W, 1240/1920 SAT. :D:D:D

also- there was no "Congratulations" on the envelope, so I was soo nervous opening it.

My D2 just got a big white envelope! That is, it came to the house. She's still at school! What does it mean? I don't dare open it. She'd be ****ed at me for ruining her surprise. What does a rejection envelope look like? How can I telll without opening if this is an acceptance to UP specifically, and not to her second choice campus?

hey did your guys status online change? Has anyone got the envelope before the status changed online??

my status hasn't been updated online. I checked this morning and was bummed out, but my mail arrived just about a half an hour ago. soo i wouldn't be discouraged by the online status!

A lot of people in my school are still waiting to hear back. I feel really bad though because I heard back like a week after I sent in my information. Good luck to all of you and I hope you get in but I've heard about some people with stats that I would expect to get in get rejected. I guess UP is super competitive this year with the increase in public school applications due to the economic crisis.

Sneakers -- those are almost exactly my stats. That's making me feel better. Congratulations!

what is a 1230/1920? I thought it was out of 2400 or 1600 if you left out one section?

^ For her, 1230 is out of 1600, 1920 is out of 2400.

Congratulations sneakers1234. You have given us some great hope.,Since my son has very very similar stats. Skullduggery hang in there I have a good feeling about you, and my son. Best of luck to all who got accepted. Keep your fingers crossed to those who are waiting

collegemomof2, just curious.. my son was curious what her SAT's are ? congratulations that she was accepted for summer.

Plainsman if you are still on egg shells I THINK you can tell it's an acceptance to PSUP if the return address is UP (and of course a large envelope). I spoke with another mom whose son got into Altoona after applying to UP and she said it said congratulations on his envelope but the return address was Altoona. Hopefully that is right. To psualum80, as I said my daughters grades and class rank are really good but her SAT's were only 1020/1600, 1550/2400 (I know that is low for UP). I guess they really do place 2/3rd's of their decision on GPA and class rank.

Hooray! My D is in! Been waiting along with everyone and she got the envelope today..undecided major, 3.9, 1360 SAT, OOS

She finally came home and opened the envelope I'd been holding up to the light for hours. She's in!!!! YES!!! University Park in the fall! My D2's stats were modest: 3.7 uw, top 11%, and only 24 ACT (who needs SATs!)...so maybe some good "home state cooking?" Who cares, she's in! And I'm a happy Dad!

ACCEPTED!! Got it in the mail today, status online still not updated. Congrats to everyone else as well.

accepted to university park today in mail, but no online update yet
stats:
GPA 3.48
SAT 1290/1870
many EC's 1 varsity sport
OOS

^ is that gpa weighted or unweighted?

any smeal applicants heard back yet? and do they look at your SAT out of 1600 or 2400? my sat score was 1120/1600 and 1590/2400 and my act was 24, which one is better? because i forgot to send in my act score...ugh
