I finally got my acceptance letter to SAIC.

Just curious, but when does SAIC mail out info regarding the merit scholarship? Or any form of financial aid?

merit scholarship portfolios are due in by feb. 15. i got in yesterday! quite exciting

are you all applying for an mfa or bfa? i applied to several schools for an MFA but haven't heard anything yet.

anyone hear from umich yet? I got my decision for liberal arts, but not a&d

I am currently awaiting the decision of whether or not I will be going to SCAD for my MA in Arts Administration. I was just wondering if anyone knows about the decision process and if it is really competitive or not. I hate waiting for these things and granted that SCAD is the only school i applied to I would really like to get in. Any advice that anyone has would well appreciated at this point.

I can't speak for the Graduate Program, but my daughter applied to the undergraduate program at SCAD at the end of September 2008. She had a decision letter in her hands about two weeks after her transcripts were received by the school.

We had been told beforehand that they make an effort to send decisions out within 2-3 weeks after all application materials are received, but again that's at the undergrad level.

I just got my official acceptance letter from California College of the Arts (for the Illustration BFA) and it says I got a 3 year merit scholarship of $10,000.

I'm excited, but I'm waiting on other schools to reply, and I'm curious if CCA's merit scholarship is $10,000 annually for 3 years, or $10,000 divided over 3 years.

Hi guys, this is my first post so please forgive my mistakes...D (daughter?) had a 1390 SAT and an 11 on the essay, NM Commended Scholar with a 3.6 (~) average (unweighted). Her portfolio was accepted for SAIC and CCA at the NPD in Atlanta in Nov. She applied to California College of the Arts, Maryland Institute College of Art and School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She got the SAIC acceptance letter last week, and a letter from CCA saying that they had received her application and the portfolio was accepted. Still waiting to hear from MICA about acceptance, but they did accept the portfolio and sent some fin aid forms for merit to be returned.

I did the FAFSA for my D (daughter?) but had to use estimates (financial crisis allowed some firms to hold off until Feb 18th to send 1099s) EFC was 5872 so no go for Pell Grants. Does anyone know how generous these colleges are with scholarships/grants? We can definately pull out the EFC, hopefully she can get a Stafford Loan and a work study, but that still leaves close to $30K for COA.

Otis is great for that. Very strong foundation, good reputation, most of the studios are out there and 5 minutes to the beach.
