If you were accepted ED, plz post your stats!

Hey I was just accepted to CMC. Hopefully some of us can get in touch sometime, im not sure how, so let me know lol. Congrats
-Steve

Im pretty sure I misread your post cuz you never said you got into cmc. Anyway here are my stats:

SAT V: 720 M: 720
SATII: Math/Writing/Lit all in 650-690 range
GPA: 3.6/4.1
Those arent amazing scores/grades so they mustve liked my essays and extracurrics, etc.

Anyone know how many applied ED this year and/or how many were accepted?

Admissions got harder this year! My letter said for ED, 23% more applied than ever before. 26% were accepted, so about 1 in 4 compared to about 1 in 3 before.

I just got in, I posted my stats under a different section... um don't remember which... but...
SAT 1500 (800 M 700 V)
SAT II Writing 760, Math IIC 750, Chemistry 700
GPA about 4.4 or 4.5 weighted, 3.9 unweighted
really active in speech and debate(president of the team), lots of leadership, have a job, coached a soccer team (volunteer)

Good luck everyone!

that's so awesome!
what school do u debate for up in san fran? i'm a fellow pres speechie from az...

definitely applying to claremont ed 2, my uw gpa tho is like a 3.5, but i got a 1510 on sats, and sat2s: 700, 760, 790...i really hope my low grades from fresh/soph yr don't hurt me.

i'll just have to play on my strengths.

congrats again!

I debate for Lynbrook. What school are you debating at? Will you be at tournaments like Berkeley or Stanford in February?

I debate for Mountain View over in AZ. What's your name? I've been to a few ntl tournaments this year, maybe I've seen you around. I might go to the Stanford tourn, but our team is def going to Harvard (we switch off every year, Berk v Harv)

I finally picked who I'm writing about for my analytical essay...I'm just gonna cross my fingers. If I do get in...I'll definitely im you or something, it'd b cool to know someone starting the year off.

Have a good xmas

How weird. There's a Mountain View in CA about 15 minutes from me. I have not done a lot of circuit this year, I do parli and OA which aren't really big national events... I used to do policy and OO though. Gluck getting in!

bl0nde: are you going to debate in college? My oldest does parli now (used to do LD in hs) and my second has applied RD to CMC. He does LD and OO--although he filled in on a policy team at the last minute and did fairly well. Our hs can't do a lot of the national tournaments though because of budget. He did go to the Harvard tourney twice. This year they did Greenhill and St. Marks to save money for TFA state. At any rate, he's very interested in continuing if possible.

Yes, I do plan to debate in college. I'm not sure if I will stick with it for all four years but I will definitely try it out. We also do not do very many national circuit tournament because of cost, but the students pay for everything (the school provides nothing).

Ouch! I hear you. The hs debate budget was cut this year so that the drill team could ride coach buses to the football games. The debate team hardly had a budget to begin with, and the drill team already raises over 100,000 dollars per year.

My oldest is at Bucknell in PA and they do not have a lot of money for debate either, but they are hoping as they become more successful they can get more funding. They just held their first tournament. Penn, Hopkins, Princeton, William and Mary, GW and UMCP all participate on their parli circuit. He found that it was fairly easy to switch from LD to parli.
