Trinity U w/ $10,000 scholarship

I probably wouldn't actually go there, but I had to have a "safety" in my hometown, and it's the only decent school in San Antonio. Hehe, I'm still happy though--my first college reply! Yay!

So far, I've been ACCEPTED at...

Michigan State University
University of Michigan (TODAY!!! I'm so happy!)

Now, all I have to do is wait until March to hear a decision from my last school which is Northwestern (hopefully, it will be good news, but I guess that I'll just have to wait and see what happens).

As of today:

4.26W GPA

Xerxes, just because you've been rejected by one top university doesn't mean you'll be rejected by the others. One girl was rejected by Yale EA last year--not even deferred--and got into Harvard RD.

Looking at an admissions decision as a some sort of absolute value gauge of your worth is one of the common mistakes on this board.

Xerxes--when my S applied four years ago, he was rejected by CMU, USC, and UCSD but accepted by UCLA. So, you never know what criteria admissions committees use.

Yesterday, my D received her big envelope from Pomona. So, another kid in California! (We're on the East Coast.)

Congratulations. I was also accepted to Boston College today. Maybe you would know about their Presidential Scholarships and when they inform people about them. I just want to know if I am still in the running.

My friend got accepted to Stanford.

1600 SAT, 800 Math/800 US History/790 writing
4.0 Unweighted GPA

9 AP Classes over the past two years, 5's on all tests taken so far (4)

Pebbles,

Congratulations to you on your acceptance to MIT. I am so happy for you. You bring to this board so much insight, grace and wisdom beyond your years. It is great to hear about good things happening to good people.

All the best

I got into wash u today! 1430 SAT, top 5% of class, decent ec's. see one of my earlier threads for more info. I didn't even end up having to do an interview.

gtown and mit. hoyas > beavers, or vice versa??

/edit: oops... hoyas > engineers, or engineers > hoyas?

doublespresso, MIT's mascot is the beaver (Tim, backwards for MIT), but the athletic teams are the engineers.
