i stuck with only 2 things i like. (i was kind of intimidated when i was younger. i came into this forum and was in awe of members with skills i only fathomed about reading guiness book of world records... now looking back as a senior, it was REALLY all about doing something you give a damn about, not just the inner peace gained from balancing interest with application building to handle academic work but it'll totally SHOW itself physically, tangibly by rewarding you 10x in the end compared to trying to do so many things at one time, look at the awards given.. bottom line is that i only did 2 things during the entire duration of high school) since i didn't convolute my life, i had free time up the ying-yang and was able to just take everyday seriously, but in a calm-relaxed state (the ones who spent their high school years right know what i'm talking about) but the most benefitting factor was that i got good, scary good at the 2 things i did. ucla, usc, and nyu collectively so far scouted and offered full ride admission under the condition i major in a custom-theory of communications each school designed for me. but not just the materialistic perks, but i'm talking about time to develop my personality and character, which ultimately helped me to build my confidence that totally dictates the discipline that brought me this far. it's to a level where you KNOW you are at the top, so it's possible to not be self-cautious but soft-spoken, daring and convincing at the same time. relationship skills.. i'm not even going to go into that one today, but life is truly bigger than this academically-obsessive world we live in.

want to get into a good school, don't try to look down-to-earth, but actually be real (it's a concept only realized when you actually become it.. trust me on this one)

Platnium- I TOLD YOU! I knew you'd get in somewhere. CONGRATS!!

As for my friend who was accepted at Stanford (BTW he is a Top-25 National Debater), he found out during our economic summit. Not sure if you guys have those, but half the senior class is in the library, and the teacher got up on the bullhorn and annnounced it to everyone.

The crowd went nuts. Even the jocks and cheerleaders were screaming for him. For one day, the nerd ruled the school. (BTW I am not a nerd)

lilgrayhairgrl

That's good to hear that you got in... my stats are similar except for my GPA is higher(4.7w, 3.94 u/w) so my RD application might be possible.

Heh

I think I got accepted anyway,

the website said,
