Still waiting here too. My daughter’s application was complete around Sept. 28.

Let me know when you hear from Pitt, we should recieve the decisions approximately at the same time.

My application was complete mid-August and I’ve still not heard anything…

My son applied at the end of June and we still haven’t heard either. Congratulations to all who have been accepted so far and we are keeping our fingers crossed!

Then it doesn’t seem to be a first-come-first-serve processing.

Mo one at my daughters school has heard from Pitt yet. The decisions thread seems to have a high proportion of engineering students as well as students who have high test scores or wrote exceptional essays.

I have the same SAT scores with the ones who received their decisions but I haven’t heard from them yet. It may be because I am international, though.

Yup, my daughter hasn’t heard back from Pitt either. Her intended major is Engineering, she has good stats (SAT over 1400), and her app was complete as of August 17th. Oh well, guess she’ll hear soon enough.

To those who say that they applied as far back as June–keep in mind that Pitt won’t review your application until all of its components have been received. This includes things such as high school transcripts and test scores that may not have arrived as promptly as the actual application. Also, if you plan to submit essays and/or letters of recommendation, which are optional, make sure they get submitted before or at the same time with everything else to ensure that they’re taken into account by the reviewers. While a rolling admissions process is nice in that you get an answer much faster, it certainly makes the timing of your submissions more critical.

Good luck to you all!

Quick question

I said on my app that I would send a letter of rec, I gave my teacher all the materials to be sent around 5 days before I sent in my app, and by now she is at least in the process of sending them. But my school automatically send my counselor rec with my transcript. And today they finally processed my ACT scores which I sent last week so now they said on my status the app is complete. Now Im assuming they havent received my teacher rec, but since they have my counselor rec will they just go ahead and make a decision on my admission? Im not too worried about my other teachers rec, I just really want to hear my decision soon from the school :D

In theory, yes. As soon as they have all the required components they can start the review process. How soon they actually do it depends on their workload at the time, the school you’re applying to, who knows what else…

S1 accepted to School of Arts and Sciences! We are SO proud and he is thrilled as Pitt was his first choice!

Good luck to all!

i applied in mid august and got my acceptance today!

I got my acceptance letter for the School of Nursing today. I applied in late August.

I applied to PITT’s School of Engineering back in July and got all my supp info in in late September, still haven’t heard anything. Does it take longer for out of state applications?

I called the office of admissions today and they told me that my application is being reviewed right now so I should hear from them really soon.

I applied October 30th and I got accepted into the business school November 15th. My SATs were 1890 and my gpa is 3.8(UW)/4.16(W). Good luck everyone!

^^Please see the Official Decisions sticky thread at the top of the forum for a more up-to-date account of results.

I applied November 7th and heard back November 15th. Same with Penn State applied November 7th and heard back the 17th. I was really impressed with how fast they replied. Most of my friends applied way before and are still waiting.

Though, I did have really high test scores and used my common app essay which I thought was pretty good.
