Do adcoms start reading applications as they come in or at the due date? Do yo think there's any advantage in sending it as early as possible?

Quote directly from a Harvard admissions representative:

We read applications in the order in which they are received beginning on the 1st of December. The earlier 250 applications are more exciting to read than the later 1,000. [There were laughs from the audience.] Get to your application as soon as possible.>>>

Some schools will put your information into their system when they receive the application for priority housing and enrollment. Even if they don't process the application, it benefits you to have an early date for those perks. It is always great to get them in before the holidays and your Spring semester of Sr. year so that you can sit back and enjoy and wait for responses.

Good Luck!! :)

^ Or you can sit back and be apprehensive about it to the max.
