Muppetmom and all-

just as an update - my friend is doing many of the things on muppetmoms list. Therapy, all ready started has intensified. The on line diploma thing is in the works. The gap year is still going ahead, but before that, her son will be doing an intensive kind of outdoor thingy that helps kids examine the choices they make. During this time he will complete the diploma work.

Short term, he will contacting the colleges. The school has already done that, so now it is more about communicating plans and hoping for the best.

Thanks for the help. Very validating.

Another option for finishing high school with a ‘homeschool’ diploma aside from Keystone is NARS ([NARHS | Your diploma, your way.](http://www.narhs.org/)). My kids have high school diplomas with this school.

They will take all the classes that he has completed and let the parents/student know what else, is anything, is needed to complete high school diploma requirements.

Just another option aside from a GED. A GED carries such a stigma that I hate to see a kid feel that they have to resort to that option.

NARS is a private school with a CEEB code so on a college application, you simply look like a private school applicant.
