Any advice for a Non-Trad starting the process?

Hello There Non-Trad Forum,

This week I’m starting off the long old journey that will hopefully wind up with me starting in a US college in 2011. As I’m very much a non-trad, I thought I’d pop in here and throw myself at your mercy looking for advice :stuck_out_tongue:

Right… background:

Basically, I’m far from a normal student as by the time of enrollment I’ll be 24. I’m also an international student, as I’m British. When I left school at 18 with pretty good grades, I had no clue what I wanted to do when I grew up, and now I do… hence going back to school. In the last few years, though, I’ve spent a lot of time in the States and want to study there. In case in makes the slightest little difference, the years between leaving school and now, I’ve worked mainly in marketing\advertising as a graphic designer\writer\web designer and want to study the creative aspects of the English language.

Although I think I’ve got the important dates down, and am more than aware that I’ll have to magically pull at least $125k out of my backside to pay for all this, I’m just wondering if there are any other Non-Trads out there who have been in a similar position and can give me any advice or give me some things to think about?

Non-trads, yes. International non-trads? Perhaps a bit more rare. I’d try asking around in the international students forum. Also, consider individually contacting international students representatives at the schools your interested in attending. I realize that this can be time consuming. Though, it could also provide the most specific answers to your concerns.
