My government teacher seems to really hate me, and I don't know why. I pay attention during class I participate a lot, but then everytime he grades anything subjectively he always gives me a bad grade. Also, whevever I get high test scores (which is often) he always acts really condescending about it. I've tried to not let it get to me, but it's been happening for months now. Does anyone have a similar situation or any advice on what to do? Thanks in advance!

Can you give us an example of the grading? As for the other stuff, if your teacher really bothers you, talk to your guidance counselor. A GC would know how to deal with this.

hahah this sounds so similar to mine. except we do nothing in the class yet he still givse me the only b in the class. im gonna go to the counselor. as for now, i think finding the teachers number on whitepages and calling from a distant payphone with some crazy lunatics can be a good way get bak at him/her =D

The solution is very simple. Whenever you have a problem with something, divide it by zero. :D

OK, an example of bad grading is when he asked for a paper that was 1 page long about a current event. So then I did a paper that was a page long and he took off 3 points saying it was too short (he didn't have any other negative comments on it).

LMAO. Maybe I should try doing that lol. and yeah I probably will end up going to the guidence counselor. I was just seeing if anyone had any other suggestions since I sometimes feel uncomfortable talking to counselors.(yeah, I know, it's kinda weird)

Your teacher doesn't necessarily hate you. I didn't find out until this past September that the English teacher I had last year actually liked me a lot. I thought she detested me. I got bad grades on essays either because she didn't like my style, or because I just plain sucked at writing.

Also, with regards to that paper, your teacher could be calling it "short" in terms of meaningful content, not word count.

Is he a bad teacher because you get bad scores on writing or in terms of content? Because, I count a bad teacher as one that says to you, "I can't teach Math 3 because I never really understood that (mumbles) or passed that..." like my teacher haha

Yeah, I've thought of that, but it seems to happen on every single assignment. He takes points off for the smallest stupidest reasons, but he dosn't seem to do that to anyone else. It gets rather annoying after awhile.

AnonPerson1, I mostly consider him a bad teacher because he always seems to act really condescending towards me. And your teacher sounds horrible! lmao he dosn't even understand what he's teaching.

This is exactly my situation. It's too bad she's still out to get me, though.
