I’m thinking specifically regarding orientation and/or moving in. Any “if I’d known then” thoughts?
My D will be attending this fall. She’s so excited–it’s great to see. Thanks!

Feel free to message me with specific questions. There are so many I know! I have a third year daughter.
Also feel free to PM me with any specific questions, I am a first year student.
I wish I would have known that when they said that you need a fan if you are not living in East campus that they were correct. I also had this weird idea that Iowa was always snowing. When I got there it was super humid and hot and then it rained! You don’t really need your parents there to move you in but most students bring their parents anyway. Unlike other schools, there aren’t older students there to help the first years move in so it can be a struggle if you have anything heavy. New Student Orientation is very very busy. I didn’t have time to call my parents until after a few days. They try to pack your schedule so you won’t get homesick.
Don’t forget you can order online and Walmart and pick up in store. Can be helpful if coming from far. Sometimes it’s best to wait and see what you need (fans, storage bins, fridge, etc).
