*Top 10% of my class

Sorry if it seems like I’m bragging, I’m simply trying to list off information. If you have any advice on how I could increase my chances of getting into Stanford University or into other reputable universities it would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

Advice for applying to Ivies/Top Privates:

  • Have realistic expectations. For every one person those schools admit, 9 or more equally qualified candidates get axed
  • Leadership in your clubs will help
  • Get those dank teacher recommendations
  • Write good essays and package yourself
  • Get a good set of SAT/ACT scores. 32-33 is enough to put you into the ‘average’ category, 34+ will put you in the top quartile

It’s a crapshoot, for most. Unless you cured cancer, won IChO medals and was a Siemens finalist, you can’t really assure acceptances to ivies/HYPSM. Best advice to get into those schools if that’s what you’re set on is to apply to a lot of them. But what you can do is make sure your recs are good, your essays reflect yourself well, and you get high standardized test scores- 34-35+ on the ACT which is upper 1500s on the SAT.
