any advice to survive junior yr...

it's been like 2 weeks since school started and i'm overwhelmed w/ my classes and extra-curriculars. currently i'm taking

ap calculus
ap physics
ap econ / ap comp gov.
ap eng lang
ap us history
honors chemistry
pre-ap spanish lit

in addition to taking german classes after school, being in track and field, organizing gazillion number of charity events, being the school's magazine chief editor, and running a club.

how do u overachievers handled ur junior year? do u guys actually managed to hav social life or u gave up on that for that yr?

i would appreciate any kind of useful advice...

In all honesty these questions always annoyed the crap out of me because you did this to yourself and now you’re complaining. You could drop at least two of those APs and still get into an Ivy. There’s also a million threads like this one already.

I know a lot of kids who would go to sleep after school, wake up at 8 or 9 and then work through the night.
Your social life will pretty much consist of study groups at the library.

sofie’s right. You knew going in what your schedule and life was going to be like. You are probably not going to have a life outside of school and ECs, which sucks cause that is what high school is partially about.

Plus, all the stress is going to make you sick. Drop an AP class or two.

pick one of the clubs/sports youre in and try to get as many of your friends to join as possible.
cant get much more social than that.

Well, don’t buy a gun any time soon.

its just going to get worse later. id drop a few extracurriculars, colleges just care about the one or two that stand out anyhow

as for social life, you can pretty much forget about that-- but lets face it, summer after junior year is freaking awesome, esp. if youve had a great year

Good luck. Don’t waste any time. Get as much sleep as possible.
