C, I am Egyptian, and I go 2 this public high school & I am applying to MIT, Princeton, mt. Holyoke among others…
The thing is: no one from my school has ever applied somewhere outside Cairo. None of my teachers, friends or family have ever heard of MIT
I don’t even know if that’s a good or a bad thing…
I mean, I had to explain 2 my teachers a zillion times over, what a “recommendation letter” is.
So obviously, my school has zero experience in dealing with such things.
On the other side, I dint have it as easy as rich kids from fancy private schools…
I have been working since I was 15.
Dunno if that adds up as a good thing, though…
I don’t have my hopes up 4 Princeton or MIT anyway
