Any APs that can be self-studied just from a prep book?

Hey guys, I know it's a little bit early, but I'm just doing a little planning ahead. I plan to self-study three APs next year, two of which I'm already decided with. As for the last AP, I'm undecided, and would like suggestions as to which I should study for. I'm looking for an AP that's relatively easy, and hopefully one that can be studied for from just one or two prep books with barron's note cards.

Thanks in advanced for any suggestions or tips!

Quick question: From what I hear, AP Psychology and AP Human Geography are easy AP exams that can be prepared for by just reading through Barron's a couple times. Is this true?
thank again!

Psychology, Micro/Macroeconomics, Human Geography, and English Literature/Language all in my experience do not necessitate a specific class. I have heard that Environmental Science doesn’t really need one either, but I wouldn’t know.

Oh, I see, thanks. However, I’m more concerned about whether I would need to buy a textbook for the AP I’m planning to self study, for I’m pretty sure Psych and Human Geog don’t need a textbook, just Barron’s.

Yeah, exactly. You don’t need a textbook for the ones I mentioned

Statistics, the govt exams in addition to all the other mentioned ones

actually, almost all of them can be done out of a prep book and get a 5. you just need to get the right one(s) - look at the stickied threads.

Psychology could be easily done with just a set of flashcards.

Depends lol, for instance, I self-studied Calc BC, and I think I got a 3…

Another option would be if you’re taking Calc AB to self-study BC…

If you’re a social science person, I’d suggest doing Comparative Gov’t and Politics. I just took it and I did nothing more than reading the Ethel Wood book. I’m positive that I got at least a four, maybe a five.

I’m sure you could do Stats.

I did AB Calculus with only a Geometry background in school, didn’t find it that tough. But I would look for one you are really interested in, i.e. art history.

Well, i studied from Princetons for AP Euro (I had the textbook and skimmed it on an airplane ride from Ohio, but otherwise, I didn’t go over anything but the glossary). i only began studying it three nights before the test and on my second practice test i scored a 62 raw. I think I did good enough for a 5 on the test (crosses fingers), but I’m not sure. I just started studying for psych Friday night, so I hope That I can get through with a good look at barrons. I know for a fact that Human geo is ridiculously easy, so i’m hoping I can get through with taht on the exam.

That’s all I know, good luck

@owen

you definitely need Algebra 2 + Precalculus for calc…

@Godhelpme (lol) How is self-studying AP Euro - how much work to get a 5?

@ bobtheboy. It wasn’t too hard, Princeton review covers almost all of the topics. I think I did fine for a five (I only studied for about a week overall:)

cool, thanks!

I know some people have self-studied AP Environmental. I took the class, but everything I needed to know I learned from Barron’s.
