Are you one of the Asians who got into Havard and you come from a low income, mostly Black or Hispanic, non competitive public school which rarely (if ever) sends kids to top colleges, and you don't get any kind of international or national awards?

Silly, all Asians get national awards…

hahah… no they don;t…

^Indeed, instead they sometimes get international awards.

Depends what kind of Asian you are.

underachieving Asian…

I think getting into Harvard counts as some kind of “achieving.”

except for that

being an Asian myself, I’m curious to know too

Wait, belly, don’t you mean HIGHachieving Asian, in an UNDERachiving school? Not the other way around…I’m sure you didn’t mean to label yourself as underachiving
But I’m sorry I don’t have an answer to your question…

I have asked the exact same question to a Yale admission officer who answered that it depends on the individual student. Beside, if your school has never produced an Ivy League material, why can’t you be the first one?

How dependent, JunkerRikert?

Well, I think it’s really a generic answer intended to make itself ambiguous, but I doubt that the high school will have absolutely zero factor on the admission.

IDk but are you friend with white_rabbit?

I think it’s clearly a sign that I’ve been on this site for too long when some weirdo makes a profile to try and create some delusional conflict with me.
