<p>heh korean isn’t too hard to learn. i was born in the states (1st generation, parents immigrants) but i couldn’t speak english until kindergarten because my parents spoke korean all the time at home. interestingly, after i learned english i forgot a lot of korean but for some reason i can still speak/understand/read it if that makes sense…</p>
<p>the same thing happened to my russian friend (whose parents are both immigrants from the former soviet union). </p>

<p>I wish I learned all this type of stuff -.- one bad thing about being adopted. I just recently started getting interested in Korea… wish I took Korean lessons when I was younger. My mom asked me if I wanted too, but I refused. I didn’t like going to Hebrew school, so I guess I thought Korean would be the same.</p>

<p>대 <- the C looking thing is pronounced like a D, the H is pronounced with an eh. so this says, “deh”</p>
<p>한 <- the circle thing with the hat on it is the H sound. the thing to the right of it is an “ah” sound. the L on the bottom is pronounced with an “n” sound. this says, “han”</p>
<p>민 <- the square is the “m” sound. the single line to the right of it is pronounced like “e”. you know what the L thing is now. so this says, “min”</p>
<p>국 <- the upside down L is the “g” sound. the horizontal line with the vertical line in the middle of it is the “ooh” sound. the other upside down L has the same sound. this says, “guk”</p>

<p>pronounced, “h + ah + n” + “hy + uh + n” + the next one is a bit hard. i dont know how i would translate it into english phonetics. its not pronounced Jung. its like jung but you dont pronounce the g, yet the infliction is there. </p>

but I neither listen carefully to the words nor do I memorize any songs.</p>
