My intended major is chemistry and I have good essays and good recs.

Do I have any chance? hahaha

oh yeah I forgot to add I got 5 on chem and 4 on stats. ahhaha that doesnt make that much of a difference lol

2100 SATs really hurts... You'll need at least another SATII.

Your GPA is high enough. Extracurriculars seem fine.

Stanford is a reach, I think.

you only need 2 SAT2s i think

Stanford: Reach

thanks. anyone else?

stanford's a reach for anyone. you have a good shot..good luck

EC's are good. SAT could be a bit higher...good luck you have a good shot

Not that good of a chance, but a little better because you live in California. I live near San Francisco. I've been to stanford. Its so nice. It has the nicest campus. Good luck getting there.

...oohhh, it does. I still manage get lost no matter how many times I visit.

The fact that 2100 is not high enough is rubbish. You have a 1400 math + verbal combined. That's pretty damn good. Really depends on how you project yourself to the admission folk. Package yourself well. Good luck! I'm applying there too!

1400 combined is WAY below the average, and WAYYYYYY below the average for Asian admits. Sorry, but I see as a real long shot.

yeah well come to this part of the world. i live in the middle east. i'm indian. we've got ppl accepted to that score. so i guess you're just generalising suze.

saratoga high? woot

as long as you apply, you have a chance. Your SAT's are a bit below their average, but you have good EC"s. Your GPA is good, I would say you have a chance, but we all know that STanford is a reach for anyone...

hahaha no i go to mission san jose

Anyways, even if you don't get into Stanford, you always wanted to go to Berkely right? For, uh, personal reasons hehehe. People on this forum tend to be more negative anyways. I got accepted into a school nobody told me I would get into. Everything might work out. Chillax and I'll see you at school tomorrow.

Suze, what are you talking about?

Stanford's average SAT score is 1460. She has a 1400. You're being delusional if you think you can guess someone's chances by looking at her SAT scores.

People like you are giving very very bad advice, probably because you have high scores yourself so you think you can look down on those who don't.

Your special, unique qualities are what get you into HYPS. Just look at the harvard's admit board, there were asians who got in with below 2100's while there are thousands of "stereotypical" asian applicants with 2250+.

Wow, how some CC kids don't have any idea what they're talking about.

Ouch. The tension builds...

It is very hard to tell if you'll get into Stanford or not. I applied early action this year and got my decision today and didn't get in and I had a 4.07 gpa, 1st in class, 2300 SAT, 34 ACT, play on the Tennis team, House crew for fall drama, spring musical, had 100 hours of service at various places, member of NHS, member of Senior Leadership team; National Merit Semifinalist, AP Scholar (AP US History - 3, AP Computer Science - 5, AP Calculus - 5), won a Sr. Ursula Marie Math Scholarship to my high school sophomore year, attended Case Western Reserve University one summer, took undergrad. credit Physics at Harvard this past summer, etc., etc.

Not trying to make you feel like you can't get in though; its just impossible to tell really. You definately have a lot going for you though. You are more deeply involved in your activities than I was and that's important. So write a few good essays and you can probably get in.
Good luck...
