It really depends on the major. Regardless, your stats are strong enough to show you’ve done some solid work with a lot of upside potential. Apply away and take your chances. Good Luck.

Of course you have a chance, you have done some amazing things the last couple years. Your SAT subject test scores show you have some great talent in the English language, I would bet your essays are outstanding. Your ECs are diverse and interesting as well. The good thing is that USC looks at the whole person and it appears you have a great story behind you. They aren’t interested in robots, they want real people. Good luck and congrats on some great achievement in the last couple years, you are headed in the right direction and should be proud for what you have done to get to this point.

You should absolutely apply. College admissions is more about what you’re capable of doing going forward rather than where you come from. It sounds like you’re a good, hard working kid who’s gotten his (her?) act together. Trends in grades matter a great deal and to go from a 2.5 to a 4.1 in a lousy high school is no small feat. Good luck! Also be sure to look at programs like Questbridge (?) which may help you in applying to college.

If you can accurately reflect the change in your essays, then yes you will absolutely get in! You shouldn’t be too badly held back by any other things. Which major and school are you applying to?

chance back? :)
