Any chance at getting accepted at bowdoin?

Hi everyone! So I visited Bowdoin’s campus this year and fell in love. Maine is absolutely gorgeous and I can definitely see myself going to college there. I am going to be a junior in high school this year and I’m wondering what my chains are of getting in. If anyone could help me out that would be great!

So far I’ve taken almost all honors and advanced classes and gotten all a’s. I’m taking two ap classes this yr an honors for the others.

I haven’t taken the sats yet but hopefully I’ll do well…but if I don’t does it matter since bowdoin doesn’t require you to submit them?or would they rather see them?

I’m planning on interviewing with them next summer.

I play yr round sports( varsity soccer and indoor/outdoor track). Should I contact the coaches? I might do crew this yr due to injuries from track and my schools crew team was the national champions last year so if they go again this year and if I go with them would that help my chances?

I don’t have many extracurriculars yet but I’m planning on joining more clubs this year. I’ve been in a few clubs but sports keep me pretty busy. I’m also planning on volunteering as much as possible this year and I’ll be working next summer as a lifeguard.

When I apply I’m going to
Make sure my essay is amazing because Bowdoin is definately my top choice.

Should I apply Ed? I’m going to need a good amount of financial aid so I’m hesitant to apply Ed.

I am a white female from by and I go to a very competitive high school( we were ranked #6 in the nation for athletics and our academics are very good too.)

Thanks for your time!

**Sorry I meant im from ny not by!

Are you interested in doing a sport in college (either track or soccer) and, if so, do you see yourself as developing college-level skills in your remaining 2 years of high school?? Since you say you don’t have much else in the way of ECs, sports may be important in terms of your chances for admission. Bowdoin (and virtually all LACs) give points in the admissions process (known as “tips”) for varsity-caliber applicants. . .Crew probably wouldn’t matter much as Bowdoin has a rowing team but it is club level and therefore probably won’t be too consequential in the admissions process . .

You should contact the coaches if you conclude you may end up being varsity caliber and plan to play sports in college . . There’s a form on the Bowdoin website for each sport that you can fill put to initiate the process.
