It's tough to get into Schreyer but it looks like you have a chance if you can bring your SAT scores up.

They are score driven, last year's avg SAT was in the 1430s and I know of a number of kids over 1500.
Pay attention to the essays. Show them your passion for learning.

I know someone who got in with a 1310 two years ago for the class of '09.
Depends on who you are, what you're interested in, how well you present yourself, and your test scores.

i also dont think id mention the panic attack, to me it seems as though your making an excuse for a testing situation that isnt even as bad as some college finals ;)

The student was asian and wanted to be a liberal arts major.
That's quite rare in a state school, this might have been a 'hook'.

I just wanted to point out that you can always apply to Schreyers after 2 years at Penn State (spring of Sophomore year). If you go in with Schreryers as a goal, it's completely possible to be admitted later. You need to get really good grades, be active around campus and develop strong relationships with professors who can write you strong letters of recommendation. You won't get the scholarship or travel grant, but you will get the honors degree and have amazing research and job opportunities. As an alum who followed this path, I recommend this to anyone who does not get into SHC as a freshman.

Thank you for that information. :)

Yeah, it's really sad that they don't give those students those scholarships...

Out of all the colleges I got into, I had the hardest time saying no to Schreyers because first of all Penn state is amazing, and Schreyers just friggin rocks!
