Do I have any chance at Northwestern University? Also, it would be gladly appreciated if you could suggest solid safety, and match schools. Thank you for your help!

Piano- you're in decent shape, but your GPA is a little low. Straight A's first semester will help a ton, can you do it? A girl from my school got in ED with classes like yours, but I think her scores were lower. You're obviously really motivated academically.

If anyone's interested…
I was rejected ED last year. They explained it as a lack of balance (it makes sense: I didn't take science senior year, and I'm clearly better at english and history than math and science). I was going for Medill, btw. Here are my stats so you know...er...what not to do.
3.6ish uw respected prep school.
2090 SAT (730 v, 630 m, 730 w)
APs- psych, mod euro, eng lit, eng lang
(took honors calc senior year, not AP)
Yearbook section editor, honor council, serious discipline committee, advanced drama (thespian honor society), SERVE tutor- those are the major clubs, but there are a bunch more.
Community Columnist at the Tampa Trib
Nat. merit commended scholar, a few honor societies.
They said they liked my essays

I’m one of probably very few people who actually know why the admission committee did what they did (my college counselor was more surprised than I was that I didn’t get in, and emailed one of the reps), so I thought it could be helpful- I certainly hope it is. Good luck to everyone this year.

Piano, your GPA is really low but your EC's are amazing. Remember that is you write a stong essay you might still have a chance. Good Luck! :)

Bring up my post.

yeah, just like everyone said, really low gpa but you have other strengths that can override that, just make sure to focus on them on your application, and i'm telling you, i believe recs play a very big factor in their decisions once you are deemed "competitive" so try and get a good one from one of the teachers you served as a TA to, or something like that.
