I live in the state of Washington. I go to a pretty big schools that typically has a few kids go to Ivy league type schools. I would like to major in journalism/broadcast journalism.

Do I have a good shot? Which SAT IIs should i take?

stanford doesnt require SAT 2s... they highly recommend them.. if you do apply to stanford take math 2c and 1-2 others... of your choice... preferably 1 science... as for ur SAT 1 score- retake... your ECs are decent (im being generous)... unless u wanna be a recruited athlete, no offense, but you wont get in... thats with me comparing u to application pool of 2012... and that decision thread that i am using side by side as of now to compare u with...

Your EC's don't show enough passion, if you ask me. If you really want to major in journalism, show 'em more than the school newspaper. What about going to a journalist camp this summer? Focus on those ECs who show leadership.

Your SAT's low, so you should really go for 750+ on three subject tests. If you're weak at math it would be suicide to try the Level 2 test (and besides, if you're interested in journalism, what's the point?), so what about taking the Spanish SAT II? Fill up with other subjects that you master, if you can. Is Math Level I a long shot?

But then again, show them you have the will and the ability to improve the SAT Math score. Get yourself 700s on each section of the SAT I.

I have done Journalism workshops and camps. I wasn't sure if it was worth posting stuff like that? Should I really mention every camp or workshop just for numbers? I mean I have above a 3.5 so I'm sure I could pay the $25 for national honors society...
