wow, she did really well. Is she majoring in english?

No, she's majoring in Classics and Early Christian Literature. Are you headed for Emory?

Yes................... They gave me A LOT more money than Chicago.

Any clue if Emory gives scholarships for transfers?

I don't think that they do. However, do they give financial aid for transfers.

Hey I know this thread is old, but I if anyone stumbles upon this, can you tell me if you think I'll get the full tuition Emory Scholarship? I'm already a semi-finalist and I'll hear in Feb about finalist status.

My essays were pretty good. I told Emory I want to major in Spanish, take pre-med classes, intern at the Carter Center and Medical Center, become a Fulbright scholar (take a year off between college and med school to study in Latin America), go to med school (become pediatric oncologist), and work with Doctors w/out Borders and other organizations in Latin America.

Personally, I hate these things because it seems very braggy, but I'm FREAKING about whether or not I'll get it. I can't go to Emory unless I get a full ride (we don't qualify for financial aid, but my parents say they won't pay for it) So I'm looking at Emory or the University of Oklahoma. I LOVE EMORY!!!

Let me know what you think (especially if you've had experience w/ Emory Scholars in the past)

xoxoxo

Your stats and ECs are wonderful and well within the ballpark for being an Emory Scholar, however, I think the final cut for a full ride scholarship rests very heavily on the interview session. My D was invited but not able to attend the scholarship weekend last year, yet they gave her a 2/3 tuition scholarship anyway, so they can be very generous. Good luck!

p.s., if you make it to the interview weekend, aren't you guaranteed at least a full tuition scholarship? Seems like your parents might at least pay for R&B if you don't get the full ride??
