You seem qualified, but with STRIDE’s it’s honestly almost impossible to say. Smith receives a lot of qualified, meritorious applicants every year, many more than they have STRIDEs to give. I’m not saying you won’t get one, I’m just saying that no one can tell you that you will. To address the title of the thread, yes, you have a chance. Probably a good chance. But you just need to temper that with a little understanding that even highly qualified, very meritorious students, sometimes don’t get them.

I know this is a very stressful period, and you’ve got all your hopes and dreams keyed up to a fever pitch. And i know from other threads you’ve mentioned you’re very concerned about being able to afford Smith, which is legitimate. But let me tell you that you’ll do yourself a disservice if you spend the next two months biting your nails. You’ve worked hard, and these are the last few months you have to enjoy your friends and family and your home and your high school. Try to live in the moment, I know it’s hard, but try. Don’t think about all those things you can’t control like college financial aid. Focuso n having fun and getting the most of out of this time. Because once it’s gone, you’ll wish you had it back.

Well, I don’t even know if I would say “long shot” that’s overstating things a bit. I think you have a good chance, but I’m just saying that this is a murky process. Either way, don’t let it make you feel like you’re somehow “not good enough.” You’ve done exceptionally well and you are a very qualified person, just sometimes even the qualified people don’t get what they’re qualified for.

R6L, I second everything S&P says. Not a long shot, but possible, don’t know about probable, if you can scan that. But not getting a STRIDE doesn’t diminish in anyway you or your accomplishments.

I’ve read your profile four times: my votes were two Yes, one No, one Who Knows? LOL. (I hope you can still L.)

This period rather sucks. It’s the end of a marathon and the psychic exhaustion is very real.

Not that it matters, but I’m pulling for you.

Btw, if you get to Smith, the theatre facilities are great.
