<p>So many chances posts...just getting fidgety waiting for decisions</p>

<p>area studies (Middle East)</p>

<p>1st year - studies abroad in ME
this year - in CCC</p>

<p>total GPA - 3.4
upward trend (4.0 in 15 units last semester and another A to report after 8-week class this semester)</p>

<p>great essays, ec's, etc...</p>

<p>really hoping for Cal, though realizing it's a long shot.
also applied to UCSD, UCSB, UCD, and UCLA </p>

<p>is it even conceivable I'd be admitted with a 3.4?</p>

<p>Yeah, it’s possible, but I don’t know how great your chances are. I’m not familiar with that major.</p>

<p>stats finder lists the avg acceptance GPA for 08-09 at 3.63</p>

<p>hoping time spend involved with the major would help</p>

<p>If your essays and EC’s are great as you say, I’d say you have an average shot with that GPA.</p>
