Any chance for ED?

Do I stand any chance?
Received a D in AP Chemistry. 730 on the SAT II...
I don't know where to explain this but, my situation is that during Junior year, in addition to the stress of all activities being alone for most of the time after my mother lost her job, I lost a very close relative that I had a close relationship with (Aunt) and was really devastated because I had been contacting her and visiting her since I was younger...Guidance counselor will be writing about this in her letter to colleges I'm applying to...other than that here are the stats

Receiving a letter of recommendation from the Chairman or Vice Chairman of the Yale Genetics department and am wondering if this will have any noticeable effect on my chances.

Anyways here are the stats....

Opinions+suggestions?

Thanks!

Would I have a any chance with early decision? Visited their campus and loved it...
I know predictions won't be accurate but I would still appreciate input and "chances"

Thank you and don't be too overly harsh :)

well it depends which college you’re applying to… but you seem like a very strong applicant anyways. great extracurriculars; I’d make sure to mention how volunteering and doing research helped you find your interests.
I think colleges will understand about your D in chemistry, especially since you did well on the subject test. chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/1213369-im-little-obsessed-chance-me.html</a></p>

Class rank & GPA are going to make it a reach for you.

Even though you had a legitimate problem, the GPA/Class rank will hurt you. However, everything else is pretty good. What’s your CR/M SAT? Cornell doesn’t look at writing.

Thanks for the input guys, really appreciate it. @cortana431 It’s currently at a 1400.
What do you think my chances are percentage wise in your opinion? Do you think the letter of rec. from the Vice-Chairman of the Genetics Research at Yale will help?

I was planning on maybe either the Human Ecology Major not sure which one (CALS?) that is or the CAS (Arts and sciences) by the way

Human Ecology is a college, not a major. [Cornell University - Academics - Undergraduate Major Fields of Study](<a href=“Fields of Study | Cornell University”>Fields of Study | Cornell University) Are you a NY state resident?

Oh ok I am not a resident of NY is there differences between the difficult of admittance into each college?

yes of the 3 you have mentioned CAS is overall more difficult to be admitted to, but specific majors within each college can flucuate in terms of admit difficulty.

So would majors at cals be overall easier to get into ed? How do you think Cornell will consider my circumstance and rec letter from the vice chair?

you should really do some research if you want to apply ED…

College of Human Ecology-Biology and Society really encompasses my interests…What do you think my percentage chance is there for Early decision? Thanks!

Any more opinions appreciated!!! :)

Also considering CALS-Biology and Society… any input on my chances?

Ahh any more input or opinions of my chances for College of Human Ecology ED?

Done with supplements for Cornell…Any more opinions?

Also, where should I explain grade discrepancies? I have already requested that my guidance counselor mention this in her letter. Do I need to write about somewhere as well?

Please respond! Really would appreciate more opinions!
